Aflatoxins

Toxic compounds from certain molds that can grow on crops.

FoodSafety.gov notes that some food poisoning cases can be linked to natural toxins in food, including molds and their toxins.

Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by certain molds on crops such as corn, peanuts, and tree nuts in warm, humid conditions.

Do not eat moldy nuts, grains, or other soft foods. Discard affected products.
