Metal fragments

Pieces of metal that can end up in food and cause injury.

Food poisoning includes illness from contaminated food. FoodSafety.gov also describes molds, toxins, and contaminants as causes in some cases.

Metal fragments in food are a physical hazard. They can injure the mouth, throat, or digestive tract.

If you find metal in food, stop eating it and keep the package if safe to do so.
